The $666 million Southern Gateway project, built between 2018 and 2022, modified and expanded the freeway from Interstate 35 to Belt Line Road.

The first series of photos on this page, added in 2022, goes northbound from Camp Wisdom Road to Interstate 35E. The Southern Gateway project modified this section to have six regular lanes and one reversible express lane.

The second series of photos goes southbound south of Belt Line. These photos taken in 2007 are still valid in 2022.
