Klyde Warren Park opened on top of Woodall Rodgers Freeway in October 2012.

Phase 2 of the park, expanding it west, was put on hold when the lowest bid for the deck in January 2022 was $95 million, 101% above the $47.2 million estimate. The bid was rejected due to high cost. A rebid of the deck job is currently slated to receive bids in August 2024 (but bidding dates are always subject to change).

The $10 million Nancy Best Fountain on the east end of the park opened on September 14, 2022.
